Today, the University of Georgia and Nike introduced a new brand and identity system for the whole Bulldogs Athletics. As part of University of Georgia Bulldogs athletic programs identity re-branding, the football team received new uniforms refined to the deep tradition of Georgia.
Here’s a look at the Georgia Bulldogs new football uniforms, that features jerseys and pants in the new refined red, silver, white and black colorways. The uniforms feature the same traditional and iconic simple look of the Bulldogs football uniform, that also showcases the new re-branding consistent colors, logos, lettering and numerals but are constructed with the latest advancements in Nike uniform innovation.
The jersey is equipped with Nike’s latest 2012 technology throughout the entire uniform. Nike eliminated the double-layered padding over the shoulders to make them more streamlined. A fly-wire technology on the collar which offer stronger stability and reducing weight from extra material not needed. The new Nike Georgia Bulldogs jersey utilize a new advance 4-way stretch water resistance breathable material, which is 30% lighter than the tradition mesh jerseys. The strategically placed seams provides the ultimate flexible and full range motion while offering that “shrink-wrapped fit”.
The Bulldogs jersey is equipped with a Nike Dri-Fit fabrication that transports moisture and sweat from the skin to the outside of the top, leaving the body cool and dry. Regulated for the weather with increased breathability and a streamlined fit, this new new innovative venting systems including laser perforation pods in a unique design pattern that help the body regulate temperature. It also features reinforced bonded seams as well as premium mesh underarm gussets for increased thermoregulation.
The full, integrated uniform system also features strategically placed seams, pads and cooling zones that help minimize distraction and optimize protective coverage. Padding without the bulk offers optimal low-profile impact protection, specifically throughout the crucial “hit zone” between the knees and shoulders.
The University of Georgia Athletic Association and Nike officials worked on a over a 15-month period in order to develop an innovative and cohesive athletic brand identity that reflects the unique qualities of Georgia Athletics while promoting a consistent and unified look across all sports. The Georgia brand evolution to refine and update the celebrated marks of the University, honoring the rich tradition of academics and athletics. With the goal of developing an innovative and contemporary athletic brand identity, Georgia and Nike worked with student-athletes, coaches, administrators and alumni to compile input on the department’s brand attributes.
“We’re excited about this program’s visual guidelines, which embrace the history and tradition of Georgia Athletics and positions the Georgia brand to reach a continually expanding and evolving audience,” said UGA Director of Athletics Greg McGarity. “This program will also bring a more consistent look to our logos, uniforms, field markings and other areas where our marks are displayed.”
While the Georgia Bulldogs football, basketball and track & field programs will be wearing the latest Nike uniforms with the re-branding identity updates for this upcoming 2013-14 season. All other Georgia Bulldogs athletic teams will phase in new uniform looks over the next two years.
