Maryland football made a splash last year when they introduced their “Pride” uniforms with the assistance of Kevin Plank – Under Armour CEO and Maryland alumnus. The Terps have become fashion icons, of sorts, in college football or trying to score same headlines and recruit benefit like Oregon with what the uniform game can bring to a program.
This season the Terrapins are jumping right back into the uniform discussion with a few tweaks to their everyday-type uniforms. These new they will wear in this seasons rotation has toned down the extreme look a bit and have found a seemingly nice blend of Terps red and black and Maryland state-flag colors. The home (red) and away (white) jerseys are similar to two designs used in the 2011 season but this new helmet is toned down a little.
Similar to the “Maryland Pride” alternate, the white helmet for both uniforms features a stylized version of Maryland’s state flag. The 2012 design is a bit more subtle, but still delivers the message Edsall wants to convey to in-state recruits about the program.
